I woke up this morning, open up my Facebook account and an issue on Lynas caught my attention...

I read it not long before, but i sensed nothing wrong about that... however, it is getting serious day by day... most of them oppose the Lynas project... some people got the wrong idea about that... some even take advantage by making it a huge controversy... so, let me make it clear... why?? because,
Allah berfirman, maksudnya:-
“Hai orang-orang yang beriman, jika datang kepadamu orang fasik membawa suatu berita, maka periksalah dengan teliti”
“Hai orang-orang yang beriman, jika datang kepadamu orang fasik membawa suatu berita, maka periksalah dengan teliti”
Maksudnya, janganlah kamu menerima (begitu saja) berita dari orang fasik, sebelum kamu periksa, teliti dan mendapatkan bukti kebenaran nya.
(Dalam ayat ini) Allah memberitahu, bahwa orang-orang fasik itu pada dasarnya (jika berbicara) dia dusta, akan tetapi kadang kala ia juga benar. Kerana, berita yang disampaikan tidak boleh diterima dan juga tidak ditolak begitu saja, kecuali setelah diteliti. Jika benar sesuai dengan bukti, maka diterima dan jika tidak, maka ditolak.
Kemudian Allah menyebutkan illat (sebab) perintah untuk meneliti dan larangan untuk mempercayai berita-berita tersebut. Allah berfirman.
“Agar kamu tidak menimpakan suatu musibah kepada suatu kaum tanpa mengetahui keadaannya”.
Kemudian nampak bagi kamu kesalahanmu dan kebersihan mereka.

from the 'firman' above, it tells us that it is crucial to check whether the news that we received is true... so, my next step is....

After Googling, I found out a lot about Lynas... Let me entertain u...
Lynas Corporation, Ltd. is an Australian company which mines rare earth.. now, the company was focusing on a refinery facility at Kuantan... after they finished at Mt Weld...
Rare earth elements are abundant and was dispersed in the Earth's crust.. the rare earth elements are essential to be used as the components of electronic stuffs.. Your iPad, phone, laptop... anything which is electronic got the rare elements in it... it is on demand now and currently China is leading as the biggest producers of rare earth elements..
It is undeniable that rare earth elements brings fortune to one's who mine it... on the contrary, the consequences is severe...
In Kuantan, Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) was built with the support of Malaysian's goverment (12 years of tax exemption) with pioneer status... some people may think it is wise for the country to involve in this plan... but '12 years of tax exemption' is too much... first, we have to realize that we're dealing with foreign country.. we don't know what's up on their sleeves nor we know their trueselves.. even our own friends can stab us from our back... and what's more, we're talking about money rite now... people are even willing to die for money... it is not i'm prejudice or what.. it is just that we have to be careful with people around us...
that's the first issue, the second one is their waste... from what i read, rare earth elements contain monazite (thorium, cerium and lanthanum) and some other chemical elements which i forgot... still, what's important now is that thorium is a radioactive element and and can be used to replace uranium for the nuclear energy.. when we processed the element, we got thorium as the by-product... until then, it is okay... BUT...
the way they disposed it is not according to the international standard.... it is very dangerous as the facility is very close to the residential areas... and to make it worse, the Minister of Western Australia, Hon Norman Moore states that the waste belong to Malaysia and Australia has nothing to do with it..some effect of thorium are fatalities and cancer... people can be exposed to the thorium by air, food and water... and as the facility is located nearer to the residential areas, just think of it make me shiver...
to make things worse, some people took advantages of this issue to trash some party... i dun think that it is wise... this 'side' trash that 'side' and vice versa... this should be a matter between the citizen and government... not this 'side' or that 'side.... just that you don't like them, it doesn't mean that what they do is wrong...
BECAUSE....
the truth may be different from what it seemed to be... read here... it is too long for me to write it here... and frankly speaking, i don't like to repeat things...
SO...
what is the truth?? which side is telling you the truth... i won't give you the answer... i'm depending on you to analyze the situation... i'm asking you to use your clever brain and your pure heart to decide which side are you on....
this blog is not for me to give out my opinion but for you to ponder... sometimes we won't get the answer straightaway... but with some effort and perseverance, it is possible...
